Cover, B-Sides and Rarities: Albert Hammond Jr's "Postal Blowfish"

Although Albert’s album was very different from the Strokes’ sound, because it was more mature, laidback and restrained, but this particular song, kinda balanced the whole record out.

‘Postal Blowfish’ which comes as a bonus track, was originally sung by Guided By Voices, and with all the scratchy, singing-through-the-intercom vocals, you can’t help but be reminded of the earlier days of Is This It. Proves how the Strokes’ first album was heavily influenced by one of their most favourite bands, Guided By Voices.

A song that’s enjoyable enough to listen if you crave for more of those Strokes’ music circa Is This It.
